The Infernal Devices, the predecessor to the Mortal Instruments, is one of the best series with a not so typical love triangle I have ever read. The series starts off in Victorian London which I find was a very accurate portrayal of the time period. The main character may start off dry, however her story is one of the most interesting I have read. You becomes so attached to the characters that you may be unable to choose which pairing in the love triangle should prevail. The main character-Tessa- may be typical in the beginning however as the story develops every character plays an immense role in the developments of the society as shown in the successor series. Tessa became a force to be reckoned with, her power being present for generations to come. In addition, William Herondale, is one of the most devastatingly beautiful characters in the series both inside and out. Cassandra Clare really outdid herself while creating this series, the author created dazzling characters that had enormous effects on the present and future time period of the series, laying the foundation of countless stories. It is devastatingly hard not to get attached to every character as Cassandra Clare creates a close knit environment between the reader and the characters. I would definitely and unequivocally recommend anything Cassandra Clare writes. I'm a total fan girl of her work.
