The Mortal Instruments.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare is a series that I can say has actually swept me up in its amazing story. Throughout reading this series it is hard not to fall in love with a majority of the characters and their futures. The first book may start off dry with the main characters typical damsel in distress dynamic being very prevalent, however as the series goes on the main character comes into her own, discovering who she is and what she stands for. As the series went on, it was severely hard not to fall for the big finish - evil character, this character - Sebastian - was one of the most dynamic evil characters I have ever read about. His reveal, his mind, his way of life was so evil that it was beautiful. It wasn't until this series that I actually found a villain that I may have, in the slightest bit, wanted to win. I was already attached to these characters from reading the Infernal Devices (which will have a review) which is about these characters ancestors that paved the way for their lives today. This series and its predecessor were such gems that I would recommend this authors writings to anyone. Cassandra Clare has the power to have the reader be engulfed in the story and the ability to make such dynamic characters that will inevitably stay in ones mind and soul forever.
