I dined at Suede Restaurant on Saturday in Brooklyn for dinner, and I must say it was one of the best experiences I had at a local restaurant. The service was amazing, our server knew everything on the menu without looking at it and her suggestions were spot on. She was attentive to our needs and prompt about checking in on us. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy, very well lit and the music was trendy and not too loud. The ambiance was attractive and modern with high ceilings as well as an upper level; the decor, inside and out was impressive and aesthetically pleasing and the chairs were so comfortable, very impressive for a local urban Caribbean restaurant. The comfortable feeling made me want to stay and relax for a while after my meal. It was like sitting at home on my own super comfortable couch. The chairs, friendly atmosphere and the service made me feel like I wasn't at a restaurant and like I was at home in my own space.
The food was so impeccable that this restaurant easily became one of my top 10 favorite restaurants literally overnight. We ordered Jerk Shrimp skewers with Cole slaw for our appetizer, which was spicy and tangy and melted in your mouth not to mention the slaw was the best I'd ever had with bits of apples in every bite. The appetizer's well seasoned taste was a good portion to share for two. Our main course was Mojitio Lamb Chops with wild rice and Creole Pasta with Salmon. The Mojito Lamb Chops were amazingly seasoned had the perfect amount of char on them, the portion was great, usually when I go to restaurants they give 2 tiny pieces of lamb, however, Suede gave 4 substantial pieces of lamb that were seasoned to perfection. The wild rice was their own creative creation and was well proportioned and a perfect match for the lamb.. The Creole pasta had a different flavor that I usually don't find in pastas, it was a well welcomed change and the pasta was very well seasoned. The Jerk seasoned salmon that topped the pasta was possibly one of the most tastiest salmon Iv'e ever had due to the jerk seasoning that made what would have been a bland piece of salmon come to life in a way that I have never seen before. The food was very fresh, seasoned beautifully and the wait time was not long which I appreciated, in addition, the prices were moderate and well worth it for the atmosphere and overall area. Overall I highly recommend Suede Restaurant.
