Nourish is a new Thai Restaurant in upscale Brooklyn that boasts flavorful meals that have a home cooked feel to them. The atmosphere of Nourish made me feel at home, Nourish is a small, warm nook of comfort; it was the perfect rainy day retreat. Nourish has a very home like feel with the black and white tiled floor and the wooden chairs with small tables that made the restaurant even more comfortable and intimate. The plants that drift down from above make the restaurant very peaceful, and the dove decor on the walls further represent the calmness of the restaurant. Even the plates in Nourish are special, each plate is different and it gives off a very eclectic vibe. Everything we ordered was off the the "Secret Grandma Recipes" portion of the menu which made the ambiance all the more authentic and lovely.
At Nourish we had, Bamee Moo Dang Poo which is a bowl of Egg Noodles with BBQ Pork, beansprouts, Chinese broccoli, scallion, cilantro, topped with crab meat. Salmon Prig Khing which is pan seared salmon, string beans, kaffir lime leaves with house made curry paste, accompanied with Basil Fried Rice and for dessert we shared a Chocolate Mousse Cake with Coconut Ice Cream. (Pictures Included Below)
The Bamee Moo Dang Poo was a flavorful balance, the noodles were cooked well, the consistencies in the bowl went together nicely and when freshness was needed the broccoli, beansprouts, scallion and cilantro were there to properly freshen things up. The crab meat was also a nice refreshing taste, the presentation was also very clean and precise. It was a perfect meal for a rainy day, or any day for that matter, it had the comfort of a soup but the substance of a proper meal and it was incredibly delicious.
The Salmon Prig Khing was a substantial piece of Salmon with very fresh green beans covered in a spicy curry. I wasn't expecting the green beans to be as fresh as they were however, they were crunchy and added the perfect amount of freshness that balanced the rich curry spice. The Salmon paired well with everything, adding a rich flavor to any other dish.
We also paired the Salmon with the basil fried rice, the flavors paired well together and was the perfect balance for the curry in the Salmon. The vegetables in the Basil Fried Rice created even more freshness with the Salmon creating a perfect flavorful combination.
Lastly the dessert we had was the Chocolate Mousse Cake with Coconut Ice Cream, I'm usually not a fan of Coconut however, the Coconut Ice Cream was absolutely yummy, I would eat an entire tub of that ice cream; it was just that good. The Chocolate Mousse Cake was also very good and paired well with the Coconut flavoring.
I highly recommend Nourish because of its flavorful well balanced meals, and home like ambiance which makes the meal all the more warm and fulfilling.
